What pressure do you run in the air bags when you are not hooked to the trailer??

5 psi is the recommeded minimum.
The truck that I will be picking the compressor off has a mini dash panel with left and right guages and deflate buttons. There is a center inflate button that inflates both sides, so basically you inflate both of them together and you can deflate either side if you want to, e.g. if you have a very uneven load on the truck. This system also has an automatic minumum pressure switch that activates the compressor if either side is below about 5 psi.
There are warnings to not lift the truck via the frame once air bags are installed as this will pull on the air bags.
