| Hi, I need a new (used!) truck to haul my horse trailer. Trailer is a 2 horse stock type, weight is about 2800 lbs. I'll be hauling usually just one small horse (700 lbs.) but would like to be able to haul another horse if needed, so about 1700 lbs of horse. Day trips only, so nothing much else. I do live in the mountains! What should I look for? Thanks for any advice!  | |

| My opinion I would find a 3/4 ton truck..... Most 1/2 tons would do the job, but I my thinking is you can never have to much truck.....
Plus you will have large brakes and if you ever want a larger trailer you have enough truck already! The gas mileage is going to be pretty much the same either way. | |
