We are having a problem with our truck and wondering if anyone else on here has had similar problems and what you've done to fix it. When it is cold and you press the accelerator, it cuts out. It will do this occasionally in warm weather but is much worse in the cold. We have had the EGR valve recently replaced and nothing seemed to change after that.

Hogtown Boss is our resident 6.0 liter expert. Hopefully he will see this. Have you changed to fuel filter? Does the check engine light come on at any point? Is it when the air temperature is cold, or the engine is cold(not warmed up)?

Sorry I am late. But here goes. 2005 was the worst year 6.0 for injector control module problems causing rough idle and mainly when cold. The first thing I would do is call your local Ford dealer and tell them you need to have the updated flash for the injector control module. The cost for this is around a $100.00.
How long have you owned this truck and do you know if the flash has ever been done? This was a recall that was sent out back in 05 or 06 (to a sellect few from what I hear). If you have already had the re-flash done you will need to get a new or reman. module.
These are located under the hood on the inner fender behind/under the battery cover on the drivers side. Automatic trucks will have 3 plug ins and a 6 speed truck will just have 2 plugs. You might check the connectors before calling the dealership to make sure they are plugged in good and tight.
