Location: Summerfield, NC | Need advice. Last night when I arrived home I noticed a strong diesel smell, when I check under the truck fuel was coming out from the pan behind the oil pan. The truck was running fine otherwise, so I wanted advice if it would be OK to drive it 10 miles to the ford dealer for repairs?I know it is fuel since I collected it in a bucket. (Not the tranny).
What can I check today ? Since I really do not see where the leak is originating. Has anyone else had this happen? The truck has 69 K miles.

Location: Colorado | You might want to check your oil- make sure it is not overful. How much fuel is leaking out? Dripping, a steady stream, pouring? The thing about driving it with an external leak is fuel is flamable, and your exhaust gets very hot, particularly up at the engine. | |

Location: Summerfield, NC | Thank you for your reply, sorry for my delayed response. The problem was resolved. The fuel filter gasket was not seated properly. Easy fix.Thanks again
