Location: Colorado | With the current fuel/gas prices that is getting to be an issue again. When I first started selling medium duty trucks, there were many situations that gasoline power made more sense economically because of total miles driven per year, initial purchase price, and maintainence costs. I think pulling a three horse gooseneck in most situations the V10 will be more than adequate. With 362 HP, and 457 lbs/ft of torque, you will have close to the power the mid-late 90's turbo diesel pickups. One of the things to be aware of, though, is elevation. A naturally aspirated gas engine will lose a percentage of it's horsepower as you climb the mountain. If you spend a considerable amount of time pulling in the mountains, over 6 or 7,000 feet, be prepared for some power loss that you won't feel with a turbocharged engine.
Good luck! |
