We have a 2004 ford diesel Pu 6.0:(. The air conditioning works good until we hook up the horse trailer and get about 8 miles down the road then the ac starts to smell funning and quits blowing cold air. We have had it checked by a Ford garage and another good mechanic and they cannot find anything that would cause it to do that. Their computers don't detect anything wrong. Anyone have suggestions. We are Hot and frustrated.

Can you hook up, drive around a little until it quits working, and then take it to the garage so they can see what it's doing?

We had to do that, because if we took it in without the trailer it was fine. The computer still showed nothing. :( The freon is full too. It's probally something easy, but hard to find. Thanks

You may want to talk to someone that specializes in air conconditioning. It sounds a little like it might be freezing up, but I'm not sure what causes that.
