I have 2004 F-350 with a 6.0 and I'd like some help. I've had the truck 3 years and sometimes it just goes to idle and won't idle up for about 3 or 4 mins and then it runs fine for another 6 months and does it again. Never dies all the time. I change the fuel filters when I change the oil any where from 3,000 to 4,000 miles. I tow a camper under 10.000 lbs. about 10 times a year. Any idea's..?

Ok, when this happens I am guessing you are unable to race it up correct? If so have someone put a scanner on it and see what codes you have. Thes trucks are drive by wire. This means there is NO cable on the gas pedal it is run by electric. There is a sensor on the actaul pedal that goes bad which will cause you not to be able to race the engine.

If you can race the truck up but just will not idea up tis could be the injector drive module or injector control module located behind the battery on the drives side of the truck. Will also show up on a scanner and should be able to be tested with a good scanner.
