Subject: Low sulfer diesel vs regular diesel fuel

Hi there everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows if the low sulfer diesel is actually better than plain old regular diesel fuel? I have a 2008 F-350 one ton diesel and it says right on the dashboard to use only low sulfer diesel fuel. My issue is that not all service stations (and certainly not the small rural ones) carry the low sulfer fuel so I have been using just regular diesel fuel. I don't notice any performance problems with the truck but I would appreciate another opinion. Should I change my fuel filter more often if I use the regular diesel?

Thanks!

All diesel fuel is low sulfer now days, it is part of the epa and federal laws that all fuel/gas stations use only low sulfer fuels. low sulfer fuels is all that refineries make any more. So no need to change your fuel filter any more than you have to.

using simply old low-sulfur diesel fuel could harm the new engien. The misunderstandings will probably obvious up soon enough, but it's something to be conscious of if you buy a new diesel fuel vehicle. I also had problems being sure I was getting ultra-low-sulfur diesel petrol fuel, which is expected to have been phased into the U.S. industry last drop. _______________________ 2008 Ford F-350
