We are looking at purchasing a 2006 Dodge 3/4 Diesel 4x4.

We currently pull a 4-star 10 ft SW/3 horse with completed living quarters.
We currently pull it with our 2002 3/4 Dodge diesel. The oly differencebeing is the new truck will be a quad cab short bed and the old truck is a long bed. I realize we may need a ball extension. I just need to know if the truck is capable of pulling this trailer. We pull it about 5-6 times a year and the longest trip is about 400 miles. Thanks for the input.

Do you know what the loaded trailer weighs, and what it's hitch weight is?

If not, run your loaded rig and trailer over a cat scale.

THat should be fine we normaly pull are six horse with a5500 but we have broken down before and pulled it with are 2500 and it did fine and that weighs in around 20000#'s i wouldnt do that everyday but your trailer is alot liaghter then that and its not like your going across the country every weekend. And the hitch extenders to not do much good cause your trailer still comes just as close when your turning tightly

You/ll be fine. Just pay attention backing until you are used to the shorter bed and wheelbase. Good luck.Dan
