Subject: external brake control in newer superduties?

I have a 2005 Super Duty and a 2003 4star LQ 4h.  The trailer has electric brakes, NOT E/Hydraulic, but the towcommand system doesn't work very well. I want to add another brake control, since there is no factory plug anymore, how do I piggyback the brake controller, to get it to override or work with the factory controller.  I know its not the trailer brakes, because I used a 2006 Dodge with Voyager control, and it pulled the truck to a stop.  Thanks in advance, I've already replaced the front pads on my truck.
