Hi All:
Have any of ya all chipped your trucks. If so, what brand did you use and did you notice a difference in performance? We're looking at Super Chip and Jet. Our truck is a Chevy Duramax.

Thanks
Depends what year.
Supposedly the changes in '04 messed up most of them.
I don't see the point of MORE accelleration with horses in tow - and I don't believe the claimed improvement in fuel economy - though if I did I'd figure the payback period to be longer than I'd likely keep the truck anyway.
FWIW, etc.
& BTW, the place to ask this is the diesel forums.

I'd give Edge the nod for the most power in a diesel, I think Superchips is the safest. I've tried Predator in a 2006 Ford diesel and it was impressive. Duramax from what I've seen, is compatible with most modules and downloaders. Ford 6.0L PS is the touchiest and riskiest to modify engine controls. I may test Godzilla next, it just seems a little complicated.
I'd recommend installing a Piro, exhaust temperature gauge and adding aftermarket free flow exhaust to get rid of some of the heat that increasing fuel pressure and changing timing can add when chipping. Then there is the warranty issue. You have the right to improve your vehicle as part of the Magnuson Moss warranty act of 1975. Some dealers try to void your factory warranty when you add aftermarket products. So the question is how far will you go to defend your rights. If you don't want the hassle, you may not want to get carried away with mods. And if you are leasing your truck, you can't modify the performance.
This is why alot of folks take chips off their trucks when they go in for service. Not necessarily to hide the mods, but to eliminate the hassle if a service manager wants to blame an aftermarket product on a factory component failure. Also if a service manager wants to void your warranty, they have to give you in writing, their evidence that your aftermarket modification caused a factory component to fail.
So before the hate mail comes in on this controversy, I'm in the dessert in an undisclosed location driving the new 07 Tundra. I'll be towing loaded horse trailers tomorrow. So no email for many hours. Back in OK Friday at the World Show. So stop by and argue with me.

I have had four duramax trucks with programs/chips on three. They are not worth the hype with a very large load. In my case towing around 16k average it made the tranny slip on three trucks. Two with predator and one with edge juice. I could only run them on stage 1. The edge smokes like a freight train on anything while pulling. I only use the edge now for the diagnostics set on level 0 (on an 05 model). I have a new 2500 06 model that will out run the crap out of the 05. Its stock and seems to pull alot better than any of the previous three. I have had two 2500's and two 3500's. That did not make a difference at all either. Just my opinion and my experience.
