We have a 2006 Dodge dually 4x4 with the 5.9L. Runs awesome. We only use it for hauling our 3 horse with 11ft living qrts. So it only has 55k miles on it. Gets decent mpgs.

But the clear coat on the truck is peeling and we are loving the look of the new 2011 Dodge Duallys.

but we are unsure if we should trade in our 2006. Worried about the bed height for one and gas mileage for another.

Anyone out there got some input?

After our 97 Dodge Cummins 2500 blew up we had to replace the motor. Went from a cranked up motor with lots of power and black smoke to a stock motor. It just didn't have the getty up go like my husband was used to. So being upset with this truck which he bought new back in the day. We saw a white 2011 Dodge Cummins Dually, auto 6 speed 4x4, 8 foot bed, double cab with the works setting on a lot and pulled in and bought it. After getting it home we was very concerned that we bought this big truck to haul our 3 horse with 12 LQ trailer and it isn't going to fit. Our trailer has been blocked 5" already. We just tried hooking the trailer up last weekend for our first camping trip this year. Husband had to crank the trailer up really high ( counted 50 cranks!) but after hooking up, the truck just set right down level. It must have been all the heavy suspension and shocks that did the work. It pulled just fine with 8" clearance between the bed and trailer. It was funny to see the mud flaps almost touching the ground. Husband just went on and on about the great performance of the truck. Now mind you, we only got 9 miles per gallon but a lot of that was where he used cruise control on the flat. I do not agree with using cruise control and towing but what do I know. We are very happy with our "Big Bertha"!
